چکیده
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), a gaseous signalling molecule, is important in numerous physiological and pathophysiological processes. Despite its initial identification as an environmental toxin, H2S now well described essential molecule that finely balanced to maintain cellular functions, especially modulating mitochondrial activity. Mitochondria are responsible for the oxidation of safe elimination while maintaining biogenesis. mitochondria generates various reactive sulfur species could post-translationally modify proteins by sulfhydration. Sulfhydrated participate many regulatory activities either direct interactions electron transport chain or indirect regulation epigenetics. These investigations explain importance research therapeutic beyond traditional understanding protective role through anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties. This review focuses on highlighting significant involvement pathway vascular diseases current donors use under development.

Vascular biology of hydrogen sulfide.
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a ubiquitous signaling molecule with important functions in many mammalian organs and systems. Observations in the 1990s ascribed physiological actions to H2S in the nervous system, proposing that this gasotransmitter acts as a neuromodulator. Soon after that, the vasodilating properties of H2S were demonstrated. In the past decade, H2S was shown to exert a multitude o...

As the third gasotransmitter, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) plays a crucial role in the physiology and pathophysiology of many systems in the body, such as the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, and gastrointestinal systems. The mechanisms for its effects, including inhibiting ischemic injury, reducing oxidative stress damage, regulating apoptosis, and reducing the inflammation reaction in differen...

21 Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is the third endogenous signaling gasotransmitter, following 22 nitric oxide and carbon monoxide. It is physiologically generated by cystathionine-γ-lyase, 23 cystathionine-β-synthase, and 3-mercaptopyruvate sulfurtransferase. H2S has been gaining 24 increasing attention as an important endogenous signaling molecule because of its 25 significant effects on the cardiova...
متن کاملModulation of hydrogen sulfide by vascular hypoxia
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has emerged as a key regulator of cardiovascular function. This gasotransmitter is produced in the vasculature and is involved in numerous processes that promote vascular homeostasis, including vasodilation and endothelial cell proliferation. Although H2S plays a role under physiological conditions, it has become clear in recent years that hypoxia modulates the production...
متن کاملHydrogen sulfide replacement therapy protects the vascular endothelium in hyperglycemia by preserving mitochondrial function.
The goal of the present studies was to investigate the role of changes in hydrogen sulfide (H(2)S) homeostasis in the pathogenesis of hyperglycemic endothelial dysfunction. Exposure of bEnd3 microvascular endothelial cells to elevated extracellular glucose (in vitro "hyperglycemia") induced the mitochondrial formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which resulted in an increased consumption ...
